Frequently Asked Questions

1. I've never talked to anyone. I'm used to handling things on my own. Aren't people that go to therapy weak?

Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the ability to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. You already have some strengths that you’ve used before, that for whatever reason isn’t working right now. Perhaps this problem feels overwhelming and is making it difficult to access your past strengths. Our work together will be collaborative. I integrate an interpersonal style with evidence-based treatments uniquely tailored for your needs. I’ll help you identify what those strengths are and how to implement them again in what is happening now.

Some of the evidenced-based treatments I provided:

  • Psychodynamic therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral therapy

  • EMDR (trauma) therapy

  • Relational Cultural therapy

2. Do you take my health insurance?

We accept BCBS, BCBS State Health Plan, Cigna & Aetna. We are an out of network provider for insurance plans not listed above. However, we are more than happy to offer you a super bill for reimbursement from your insurance plan. If you are unsure if insurance covers therapy, please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health (in office and teletherapy) benefits?

  • How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?

  • How much does my plan cover for an out-of-network provider?

  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

  • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

3. Rates

Please contact the office regarding rates for counseling services.

4. What form of payment is accepted?

All payments (co-pays) are included at the time of service. We accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA.
